The company got the award from the magazine Globo Rural and is included in the ten best in the segment of crop protection products.

After just over a decade and many overcome challenges, Ourofino Agrociência gest the award TOP 10 of the 17th Best in Agribusiness, from Globo Rural magazine. This landmark is unprecedent in the company that has Brazilian origin and materializes the work of all the team, always based in the purpose of reimagining Brazilian agriculture.

The award selected the 500 best companies in the sector in 22 categories. In the segment of Crop Protection products, Ourofino consolidated itself among the ten best. According to the magazine, the award considers as indicators the financial indexes and also socio environmental responsibility which correspond to 70 to 30% of the final grade, respectively. The evaluation is performed by Globo Rural magazine in partnership with Serasa Experian.

“This award was only possible because we have a committed team, formed by people that are passionate about victory, who shine when faced by challenges and have innovation in their DNA. Besides, we count on the trust of our clients, partners, and suppliers. We work to do our best each day and we are reaping the results of that”, comments Marcelo Abdo, CEO of Ourofino Agrociência.

The award is important to reaffirm the commitment of the company with Brazilian agriculture.  “We work to keep ourselves closer to the farmer. We offer a line or reimagined products and take technology and services, thus, we collaborate with their growth”, complements the CEO.

This landmark comes in an important moment for the company. In the 2019/2020 cycle the first billion was achieved. In 2020/21 the exponential revenues were even greater, despite the adversities that impacted companies globally. Besides, the company has a robust plan for the years to come.

About financial indexes, that have great weight in the evaluation of the award, Abdo emphasizes that the company estimates to bill BRL 5 billion up to 2031. “Our expectation is reaching this billing sustained by the portfolio that grows every year. The pipeline of products if very good. We will have 285 solutions in our main portfolio and clones, in the next ten years.”

Only in 2021, the company has launched five important products and expects to announce another novelty until the end of the year. The launches have brought other important achievements, as the entrance in the patent market with Goemon®, an unprecedent molecule in the Brazilian market for the management of caterpillars; Pontual®, a fungicide with technology that offers triple protection against the threat of Asian rust and the recently incorporated Vivantha® and Ímpar®, insecticides that operate in the control of sucking insects, broadening the options for the grower.

Thus, environmental responsibility is a golden rule in Ourofino. The factory located in Uberaba (MG), has a structure that enables the best use of sunlight. With translucid tiles, the use of lightbulbs and consequently electric energy for their feeding is not used. Besides, it is considered one of the most modern factories in the world in the segment, according to external auditors.

These are only some examples of the work performed by over 400 employees in the company who are encouraged to innovate and is consolidated with the award 17th Best in Agribusiness.

To Abdo, it is a moment to celebrate: “we have reached many things in a bit more than ten years, we have a lot to do, grow and contribute with Brazilian Agribusiness. Thank you everyone. Let’s go ahead!”
